well, it will be very disappointing if i will not graduate in this institution because most of my relatives came from very prominent schools in the Philippines and that includes Silliman University of which is the current top 1 of the CHED Center of Excellence title and currently number 2 for the TOP SCHOOLS with the highest rates of Nursing Board Passers ![]()
I know i know, i can’t leave this blog. Well, so many memories here. I guess i’ll just stick to this. Well, i will also open http://thecursedfield.blogspot.com whichever i prefer opening in a day.
I will introduce you to Silliman University.
This is the Business Office of silliman university where all payments (tuitions, dorm, cafeteria) are made and this is the place where we get our exam permits. This by the way is located at the second campus by the sea.
This is the Silliman University library which is one of the largest libraries in Asia in terms of the volumes of books. In the rooftop is actually a helipad wherin helicopters can land.
This is Hibbard Hall. The offices inside include the base camp of the Student Government, Guidance Office, The Student Housing services and others. On the second floor is where we usually process our ID’s with the stickers and we can actually play pingpong and other board games on the second floor.
This is the University church (UCCP). We usually hold our fellowship services here. Beside this church lies the Oriental Hall or the 2nd Base Camp of the College of Nursing.
Well, this is the very first building implanted in the Silliman University lot back in 1901. It had 15 male students before. And now, this is our University Museum.
This is the new College of Business Administration (CBA). Beside that is the College of Nursing. They are actually the current champion in our intramurals.
Look at how big our school is. And it is only the front. Our school is about 64 hectares big! This is our Ampitheater. We usually hold meetings here and even eye balls. LOL.. this place was featured in CLOSE TO YOU movie by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz feat. Sam Milby. They actually shot their video inside our school.
This is our Claire Isabelle McGill-Luce Auditorium a.k.a Luce. LOL. We hold very special events here such as the 2009 Valentine Song writing competition, the 2009 Silliman University Mr and Ms South East Asia and Miss Silliman University. Various international and local artists have performed here such as Jay Cayuca, the Madrigal Singers, the Bayanihan Dance company and many more. We are actually buying tickets for these shows and some are given Season Passes worth 1500 pesos good for 6 events.
The Portal. Hehehe.. See those big stuff in each side? Those are actually our monuments/ logos/ symbols of our university. It has actually become a landmark here in Dumaguete City. It is called “The Portal”.
Well, basically those are the Major Spots in Silliman University where most people can be seen .. including me. I am usually at around The Hibbard Hall, BizAd and The Library..hehehe.. And lastly, i will show you my newest tambayan called PORTAL WEST
Tenenen! hahaha! Yeah im usually at the third floor chilling with my friends at “The Bar” and well, the food and beverages including coffee are quite as expensive as those of Starbucks. LOL. and so this is the famous tambayan of Debbie The Great. It’s really amazing how people find me here expecially dorm mates. They would be like “I knew it! You’re here.” and i’d be like “Why?” they’s say “because you are not at the dorm and we didn’t see you at the Library so basically we know you are here”. LOL. Wow overwhelming
Beside that is the national book’s store.hehehe.. wala lang. this place really rocks. especially if you want a romantic/modernized date with your boyfriend/girlfriend, come to Portal West. LOL.. hehehe thumbs up Sillimanians!
